'The Big Bang Theory' Actress Mayim Bialik Responds to Backlash Over Harvey Weinstein Op-Ed

Some took Bialik's piece to in effect be blaming the female victims who were harassed

"The Big Bang Theory" actress Mayim Bialik found herself defending comments she wrote in a recent New York Times opinion piece relating to Harvey Weinstein. In the op-ed Bialik wrote of how she largely escaped the harrowing encounters so many of her fellow peers endured because she dressed conservatively and acted non-flirtatiously around men.

"I still make choices every day as a 41-year-old actress that I think of as self-protecting and wise,” she wrote. "I have decided that my sexual self is best reserved for private situations with those I am most intimate with. I dress modestly. I don’t act flirtatiously with men as a policy."

Some, including Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette, took her piece to in effect be blaming the female victims who were harassed.

Bialik said her words were taken out of context.
