Yankee Candle Company Issues Mass Recall Over Glass Holders Breaking

Thousands of glass candle jars made by Yankee Candles are at risk of cracking ahead of the holiday season, prompting a major recall of the product.

The Yankee Candle Company is recalling about 31,000 candles from its Luminous Candle Collection. The makers say the square glass jars can crack when the candle is lit, posing an injury hazard, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, which posted the recall Thursday.

The company has received 16 complaints of cracking so far, but no reports of injuries.

The candles have three wicks and were sold at Yankee Candle stores and on the company's website between September 2016 and November 2016. They can be exchanged for a full refund.
