Suicide Bomber Hits Coalition Convoy in Kabul

A suicide bomber attacked a convoy of coalition forces in the Afghan capital of Kabul Saturday, officials said, NBC News reported.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the car bomb that rocked the capital around 9:15 a.m. local time.

"No casualties reported so far and we are gathering more information at this time," coalition forces spokesperson Col. Brian Tribus said.

The U.S.-led coalition forces have been supporting Afghan forces in their fight to retake Kunduz from the Taliban, which seized control of the northern city late last month. Afghan forces recaptured most of the city by Oct. 1, officials said.
