Tax Day Discounts: Where to Find Freebies in Honor of the IRS Deadline

Spend your refund—or if you owe, take solace in freebies

Americans have until 11:59 p.m. Monday to file their taxes with the Internal Revenue Service, or request an extension to avoid a late-filing penalty. While procrastinators may be busy with last-minute scrambling, the vast majority of taxpayers have already filed and have come to terms with their financial fate.

Whatever that fate may be—a refund or bill—retailers and marketers are prepared to seize on the range of emotions and neuroses Tax Day might evoke.

For those with an affinity for hard-copy record-keeping, Office Depot is offering five pounds of free document shredding through April 16, as well as a free black and white copy of your tax return, through the end of the month.

The stressed and the overworked, meanwhile, can claim a free massage at participating Hydromassage locations, or take advantage of Google Play's flash sale that's offering dozens of albums for as little as $2.99. (Justin Timberlake's "Justified" is going for $6.99; Drake's "Thank me Later" is selling for $2.99.).

Browse below for other places the recently (or soon-to-be) reimbursed can spend a chunk of their refund, or where those in the red can find solace in freebies.
