Member of Mayor's Security Detail Shot With Pellet Gun: NYPD

A member of Mayor de Blasio's security detail was shot with a pellet or BB gun in the back Sunday night outside the mayor's home, police said.

The female NYPD officer, who wasn't identified, was struck around 7:15 p.m. outside Gracie Mansion, the department said.

The mayor was in Brooklyn at the time, according to police.

The security guard felt pain in her back and was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital with minor injuries. She has since been released.

Police said a man and a woman, both 19, were detained around 8:30 p.m. on East End Avenue and are in custody. No charges have been filed.

There have been two previous reports of pellet guns causing damage to windows in the area, police said.
