2 Boys Rape 2 Women in Park: Police

Police have identified two juveniles suspected of raping two women in a Wilmington, Del. park last week.

Authorities say officers were called to Kosciuszko Park near the 600 block of S Franklin Street shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday and found two women, ages 24 and 32. Both were taken to Christiana Hospital by ambulance.

Authorities say the two women were in the park when they were approached by a group of 10 to 12 boys. Two of those boys allegedly raped the women while the rest of the group watched. Police suspect the women were specifically targeted.

Tuesday afternoon, Wilmington Police announced they identified the suspects and are currently searching for them.

"Take accountability, step up, turn yourselves in so that way we could move forward," said Wilmington Police Cpl. Jamaine Crawford.

The boys' ages weren’t revealed and there appears to be no surveillance cameras at the scene. Officers went door to door Friday asking neighbors if they knew anything about the rapes.

"They are juveniles and it disturbs me that you have 10 to 12 juveniles committing such a heinous act in a park where children should be playing," said Sherry Dorsey-Walker, Wilmington city council member.

A woman was raped in the same park in March of 2012. She told investigators she was walking nearby on the 500 block of South Franklin Street in Wilmington when she was approached by an armed man who forced her to the park and raped her.

Anyone with information in this case should contact Wilmington Police at 302-576-3990.
