Florida State University Student Found Dead After Fraternity Party

Police are investigating the death of a Florida State University fraternity pledge at a chapter party.

Tallahassee Police Department identified the victim as 20-year-old Andrew Coffey. Coffey was a civil engineering major from Pompano Beach.

The Tallahassee police say no one has been arrested in Friday's death of the Pi Kappa Phi pledge at an off-campus house party.

The Tallahassee Democrat reports that officers were collecting alcoholic beverage bottles that were scattered on the home's porch as evidence.

FSU Vice President of Student Affairs Amy Hecht said the university has no further information to provide and that the matter is currently the subject of an active police investigation.

The fraternity has been suspended by its national organization pending the conclusion of the investigation.
