Coast Guard Plucks Mom, Infant From Roof in South Carolina Floods

A mother and her 15-month-old daughter were rescued by a Coast Guard air crew from the roof of their flooded home in South Carolina Sunday morning, the Coast Guard said in a news release.

Cristi Mueller and her child, Kailynn Walts, became trapped because of severe flooding in Huger, north of Charleston.

The two were hoisted from their home into a helicopter and were transported to a Coast Guard station in Georgia.

Both mother and daughter are listed in good condition, NBC News reported.
