New York Billionaire Refuses to Pay School Taxes Until Geese Stop Pooping on His Lawn

The billionaire owner of a New York-based payroll services company says he's not paying his school taxes until local officials get rid of the geese at his lakefront home.

Tom Golisano says he's withholding his $90,000 school tax payment until town of South Bristol officials do something about all the geese poop being left on the lawn of his home on Canandaigua Lake.

Golisano says up to 200 geese gather on his lawn at any given time. He says it's up to the town to protect his property from what he considers a public health problem.

Town officials say they sympathize with Golisano, but no public agencies have been able to come up with a solution to his geese problem.

Golisano, founder of Rochester-based Paychex Inc., is a former owner of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres.
