Damned Either Way: Is Jeb Bush Trapped on Iraq?

Iraq — it's a question that was bound to be a thorny one for Jeb Bush. The presumptive GOP 2016 hopeful either has to throw his brother under the bus, saying George W. erred in invading, or else defend the war and find himself on the wrong side of public opinion. (Two thirds of Americans said in an NBC poll in October that the war wasn't worth it.) He told Fox News that if he'd been president in 2003, he'd've authorized the invasion, too, "and so would almost everybody that was confronted with the intelligence they got." But that answer doesn't hold up, because he had been asked what he would have done if he had known what he knows now. The only rational explanation is that he didn't hear that part, NBC's First Read team says.
