Zion Man Arrested for Possession of Heroin, Cocaine in Residence: Police

A bond was set at a hearing for $250,000

A 37-year-old Zion man was arrested after Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force found heroin, cocaine, cannabis and a firearm inside his residence, authorities said Sunday.

According to a release, the investigation concluded on Friday, resulting in the arrest of Robert Windom III of the 2900 block of Ezra Avenue, Zion. 

After a search warrant was conducted at Windom’s residence, officials recovered over 260 grams of heroin, over 180 grams of cocaine, over 220 grams of cannabis, and a firearm.

Windom was shortly arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and unlawful possession of cannabis, the statement read.

A bond was set at a hearing for $250,000.

Police said Windom posted bail and was released pending a return court date at 9 a.m. on April 4, 2019.
