A worker was killed Friday afternoon in an apparent mishap at a construction site in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
Emergency crews were called to the construction site near Elm and State streets about 3 p.m. and found the 45-year-old man injured, police said.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
Further details were not immediately known Friday afternoon.
