Woman's Leg Caught Between Train, Platform at Red Line Station

The 61-year-old woman was injured at the Clark and Division platform in the 1200 block of North Clark Street about 8 a.m.

A woman was hospitalized Wednesday morning after her leg got caught between a Red Line train and the platform during the morning commute.

The 61-year-old woman was injured at the Clark and Division platform in the 1200 block of North Clark Street about 8 a.m., according to police and fire officials.

Her leg was freed and she was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, according to Fire Media Affairs. Police said she was in good condition.

Southbound Red Line trains were temporarily rerouted to the elevated lines between Fullerton and Chinatown, according to the CTA. Regular service had resumed as of 8:30 a.m.
