A 19-year-old woman was shot and killed Friday in west suburban Aurora, according to police.
Officers were dispatched just after 10:20 p.m. to the the 400 block of East Benton Street for a report of a person shot on the front porch of a home, Aurora police said. There they found the woman with gunshot wounds.
She was taken an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Officers later identified the victim as 19-year-old Maritza Cazares of Aurora, and are continuing to follow up on leads in the case.
Aurora police are conducting a homicide investigation.
