Police are searching for a gunman who shot a woman in the head in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
The shooting happened around 1:50 a.m. in the 4500 block of North Broadway Street.
Police said a 24-year-old woman was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle when shots were fired, striking her in the head. The driver fled the area and went to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where the woman was pronounced dead.
Details surrounding the shooting were not immediately known.
Area North detectives are investigating the homicide. Police said no one was in custody as of Wednesday morning.
