A 34-year-old woman has been hospitalized after she was hit by a Chicago police car on Wednesday evening.
According to police, they had just spoken to the woman in the 2000 block of East 71st Street at approximately 6 p.m. when they began to leave the scene. As they pulled away, the woman’s right leg became stuck under a wheel on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Authorities say the woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she is being treated for injuries to her leg and her head.
The woman is in stable condition, but no further information was available on the severity of her injuries.
Police are investigating the incident.
