A woman is in serious condition after she was stabbed during an altercation in Chicago’s Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.
According to police, three people became involved in a verbal altercation in the 8100 block of South Cottage Grove at approximately 3:44 p.m., and the argument quickly turned violent.
One of the individuals involved pulled out a knife and stabbed both of the victims. A 21-year-old woman was stabbed in the abdomen, and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she is listed in stable condition.
The other victim, a 32-year-old man, was stabbed in the back, and is listed in stable condition at the University of Chicago.
According to police, a suspect is in custody in the stabbing, and Area South Detectives are investigating.
