A 35-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a stray bullet while sitting inside of her home and carrying a baby in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood Tuesday.
In the 7300 block of South Wolcott at approximately 12:49 p.m., a 21-year-old man was standing outside of a residence when a white vehicle with two occupants drove by, and one of the men inside fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in the abdomen and the back, and he was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
One of the bullets went through the front window of the home, striking a woman in the head, according to police. She was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center, and she was listed in critical condition.
The gunmen fled the scene, and no arrests have been made as of Tuesday evening, police said.
