Man Injured After Intervening in Blue Line Fight

The victim was attacked around 3 p.m. on a Blue Line train near the 0-100 block of North Dearborn

A man was hospitalized Thursday after he was injured trying to break up a fight at a CTA station in the Loop.

The victim was attacked around 2:30 p.m. on the platform at the Washington station, according to police.

Police say a group of teens passing out fliers on the platform got into a fight with a passenger that turned physical.

The victim tried to step in to stop it when he was struck in the face. He was hurt badly enough that he need to be rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His condition was not released.

A train arrived during the fight and the group of teens pushed their way onto the train. A conductor noticed the commotion and immediately called police.

Police initially identified the victim in the case as a woman.
