Woman Hit, Killed by Vehicle on I-57 in Posen

Southbound lanes have reopened on Interstate 57 after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday in south suburban Posen.

The woman had gotten out of a vehicle that was pulled over on the road when she was hit about 2:35 a.m. north of 147th Street, Illinois State police said. Details about the fatality weren’t immediately available.

All southbound lanes were shut down and traffic was diverted at 127th Street as police investigated, state police said. Lanes were reopened just before 7 a.m.

A Shorewood man was hit and killed by a vehicle on the same expressway a day earlier near Kedzie Avenue in Markham.
