Woman Fatally Struck by CTA Blue Line Train on NW Side

A woman was killed Tuesday after being struck by a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line train on the city’s Northwest Side.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. in the 5550 block of North Harlem Avenue when a 30-year-old woman was hit by a train.

Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Service was suspended on the CTA line between Rosemont and Jefferson Park for over an hour. Shuttle buses were in place throughout the area.

Further details on the accident weren’t immediately known.
