Woman, 64, Struck by Bullet That Flew Through Window of Her Home

The bullet flew through the window of her home in the West Garfield Park neighborhood and struck her in the leg

A 64-year-old woman was struck by a bullet that flew through the window of her home in the West Garfield Park neighborhood early Saturday morning.

The bullet sailed through the window of her home in the 3800 block of West Monroe at about 2:55 a.m. and struck the woman in the leg, Chicago Police said.

The woman was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating the incident.
