Wisconsin Student Faces Charges for Trapping Teacher in Classroom

The student was charged with false imprisonment, a felony

A Wisconsin high school student faces felony charges for trapping a teacher inside her classroom.

WISC-TV reports a freshman at Beloit Memorial High School was removed from class Thursday but returned after school hours. The student stood in front of the teacher's door, refusing to let her out and threatening her with a fan.

School officials say the teacher tried to de-escalate the situation while emailing colleagues for help. The student fled when staff and security approached but was caught.

The student was charged with false imprisonment, a felony. It's unclear why the student was initially removed from class.
