Winter Weather Affects Commutes in Illinois, NW Indiana

A band of snow from the southern suburbs into NW Indiana dumped anywhere from one to three inches of snow

It may only be November, but several inches of snow fell in parts of the southern suburbs and into Northwest Indiana Thursday, causing spin outs and traffic delays on numerous roadways.

The wet snow began developing across portions of the suburbs on Thursday morning, and moved through the area and into northwest Indiana as the day wore on. Anywhere from one to three inches of snow ended up falling in the region, and it impacted travel in numerous communities.

The Indiana Department of Transportation was on a full call-out Thursday morning, as the snow slowed traffic and caused hazardous conditions on major highways.
