Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Lake, Porter Counties

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Thursday for Lake and Porter counties in Indiana. Here's the forecast to start your day:

Today: Clear to partly cloudy and much colder in the metro area this morning with a few flurries in counties along the lakefront early, but mostly cloudy with periods of Lake Effect snow showers in NW Indiana which will shift east then fade away late this morning or early afternoon with 1 to 3 inches possible. Mostly sunny, breezy and cold this afternoon. Highs in the mid to upper 20s in most areas. Wind: N/NW 5 to 15 with gusts to 20 mph.

Tonight: Skies become cloudy with a few flurries developing overnight; seasonably cold with lows in the upper teens to low 20s. Wind: W/SW 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a few flurries through the morning; partly sunny, breezy and cold in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 20s to low 30s.Wind: W 10 15 with gusts to 20 mph.

Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy; breezy and milder. Highs in thelow to mid 40s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with a few light rain or snow showers possible. Highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Monday: Partly sunny, seasonably chilly. High in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, continued seasonably chilly. Highs in the upper 30sto low 40s.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, breezy and a little cooler. Highs in the mid to upper 30s.
