The Illinois lottery said a convenience store in Glen Ellyn sold a $16,750,000 winning ticket for Thursday night’s Lotto drawing

A Chicago-area resident could be holding a lottery ticket worth millions of dollars and not even know it yet.

The Illinois Lottery said a convenience store in Glen Ellyn sold a $16,750,000 winning ticket for Thursday night’s Lotto drawing.

The ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 3S035 Park Blvd. and matched all six numbers - 16-24-28-33-48-50 – to win the jackpot prize.

The Illinois Lottery is urging the lucky winner to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they can visit one of the lottery’s five prize centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights.

The winner has one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.

The retailer is set to receive a bonus of $167,500 for selling the winning ticket.
