If Tuesday's near-70-degree highs didn't tempt a Ferris Bueller-esque day off, you'll get a second chance Wednesday in Chicago.
Though a Wind Advisory remains in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., temperatures could climb between 65 and 70. by the afternoon. Typical highs this time of year are 43.
Conditions remain partly sunny to cloudy, but strong south winds could reach 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and even 50 mph. Winds are expected to ease up late afternoon as a few spotty showers threaten in the evening.
Rain is likely overnight with a few isolated thunderstorms possible. Compared to this week's unseasonable warmth, conditions become much cooler, dropping to the low to mid-40s. Winds persist from 20 to 30 mph.
Any rain should end Thursday morning, and clouds gradually break for partial sun. Friday is expected to be seasonably cool with highs in the low 40s, and temperatures are expected to hover around 50 for much of the weekend.
On Tuesday, the mercury reached 68 degrees, close to the record of 70 degrees set in 2000 but not high enough to break it.
A record March 7 high of 78 degrees also was set in 2000.
