Wind Advisory Issued for Chicagoland Area

As warmer weather moves into the area, high winds are going to come with it, prompting a Wind Advisory from the National Weather Service.

Wind gusts of 45 MPH or more are expected beginning late Saturday evening and lasting through Sunday morning, according to an alert issued by the agency.

The advisory will go into effect at 9 p.m. and will last through 7 a.m. Sunday morning. DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Cook, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, Will, and Kankakee counties are all part of the advisory in Illinois, and Lake, Porter, Newton, and Jasper counties in Indiana.

Difficult travel conditions are expected, as winds will cause issues for higher profile vehicles travelling on north to south roads. Unsecured objects could also be blown around outside, according to the weather alert.
