Hundreds at Funeral of Curry Ex-Girlfriend, Daughter

Former Bull attended private viewing early Saturday

Hundreds came to say goodbye to Nova Henry and her 10-month-old daughter, Ava Curry.

The 24-year-old woman was the former girlfriend of NBA player Eddy Curry. Henry and the child were shot and killed in her South Loop townhome Jan. 24.

Henry's parents, Yolan and Keith Henry, expressed their gratitude to mourners who packed Calvery Baptist Church in Glenwood for the funeral services.

"Your well wishes and prayers are the reason I can stand up here now," Yolan Henry said. "Whoever did this and whatever did this, it's going to be taken care of by God."

Knicks spokesman Jonathan Supranowitz told The Associated Press that Curry was in Illinois early Saturday for a private viewing but was not at the funeral. He declined to offer further comment.

Curry and Henry's 3-year-old son witnessed the murders but was not harmed. Chicago police spokesman Dan O'Brien says no one has been charged in the slayings.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported a court sealed document from a paternity case revealed that a DNA test showed Curry was the biological father of Ava.

Curry, who has been given a leave of absence by the New York Knicks, has kept a low profile since the murders last weekend.

"He's just trying to figure everything out right now," Quentin Richardson, who lives in the same New York apartment complex as Curry, his wife and their four children, told Newsday earlier this week. "I think the best is to respect his privacy and let him deal with it the way he's going to deal with it."
