Who Stood Out in Second-Half Loss?

There's not much good to say about the Bears performance on Sunday. The offense was ineffective and unfocused. The defense, exhausted from carrying the team, fell apart in the second half. But there were people who stood out for being better or worse than the rest of the team.

Grizzly Bears

Kahlil Bell -- Attention, everyone who gets playing time because of a starter's injury: THIS IS WHAT YOU DO. You step up, and run for 133 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. You rise to the occasion. You make every coach who put you on the third string regret their decision.

Israel Idonije and Julius Peppers -- The defensive ends combined for a perfect play to get the Bears on the board, as Peppers forced Tavaris Jackson to fumble, and Izzy fell on the ball for a score. Idonije added four tackles, and Peppers another two.

Teddy Bears

Tim Jennings -- Golden Tate and Ben Obomanu burned Jennings on too many plays. It was so bad that he was pulled for Zack Bowman.

Caleb Hanie -- Speaking of people who got pulled, Hanie threw three interceptions, was sacked four times, and threw for just 111 yards. He is regressing before our very eyes, and Josh McCown's appearance in the game puts Hanie's job in question. In a sea of ugly performances, his was the ugliest of it all.

Dane Sanzenbacher -- His special teams tackles don't make up for the two dropped passes. Sanzenbacher was a key receiver early in the season, but drops made him fall out of favor. He was targeted again on Sunday, but don't expect to see him as a key receiver this Sunday.
