Who Stood Out in Playoff-Killing Loss?

Though the Bears are officially out of the playoff chase after Sunday's loss to Green Bay, there were bright spots in the loss. There were also some big black holes.

Grizzly Bears:

Josh McCown: While McCown's play didn't reach the statospheric levels of Aaron Rodgers, he was perfectly competent. He got rid of the ball well, connected with his receivers, and kept the Bears moving up the field. Did you notice the lack of three-and-outs? Or how rarely we saw punter Adam Podlesh? Or that the Bears owned the Packers in time of possession? Bears fans can't help but wonder why he wasn't on the field weeks ago.

Kahlil Bell: Tabbed as the starter because of Marion Barber's calf injury, Bell ran for 121 yards. He played patiently, waiting for his blocks. One thing for Bell to work on in the off-season is holding onto the ball. Because of smart play by Edwin Williams, neither fumble was disastrous, but a fumble-free game is better.

Edwin Williams and the O-line: Sure, Bell fantasy owners were probably unhappy about Williams getting the touchdown that was destined for Bell, but who doesn't love seeing an offensive lineman get a touchdown? Plus, Williams and his brethren on the line kept McCown from getting sacked all game and opened up running lanes for Bell.

Teddy Bears:

Julius Peppers -- Against a hobbled offensive line, the Bears pass rush was non-existent. Aaron Rodgers was barely touched, which undoubtedly helped him throw five touchdowns. Peppers, the highly-paid leader of the defensive line, didn't even make a tackle.

Zack Bowman -- Bowman made his first start of the season, but had to face the hot arm of Rodgers. He could not keep up with the Packers deep receiving corps.
