Frazier, Abreu Among Sox Players Confirmed for SoxFest

The Chicago White Sox will hold their annual Fan Festival in January, and the team announced the first crop of players, coaches, and legends that will be attending the highly-anticipated event.

SoxFest, which takes place beginning on Jan. 27 at the Hilton Chicago, will feature all of the team’s biggest stars, including Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier, according to a release issued by the team. Jose Quintana and Tim Anderson will also be in attendance, as will Melky Cabrera, Miguel Gonzalez, and Carlos Rodon.

White Sox fans will also get the opportunity to meet some of the big names that the team has traded for this offseason, including top prospects Yoan Moncada, acquired in the Chris Sale trade, and Lucas Giolito, acquired in the Adam Eaton trade.

New manager Rick Renteria will also be in the house after taking over from Robin Ventura early in the offseason. Renteria, who managed the Chicago Cubs in 2014, will hope that his second managerial stint at the big league level will be a more successful one, and he’ll have plenty of young players to work with as he begins his career anew on the South Side.

Hall of Fame first baseman Frank Thomas will also be in attendance, as will Jim Thome, who played for the White Sox and is currently a Special Assistant to G.M. Rick Hahn. Carlton Fisk and Bo Jackson will also be at SoxFest this year, along with Willie Harris and Eric Soderholm.

Hotel packages at the Hilton Chicago are still available, and fans can buy tickets to the event by visiting the team’s website.
