White Sox, Yoán Moncada Cruise Past Twins

Moncada blasted his 20th home run of the season, and Iván Nova pitched six strong innings

The Chicago White Sox finally got their revenge against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday night, as Yoán Moncada and Iván Nova guided the team to a 5-1 victory.

Moncada hit his 20th home run of the season in the victory, and Adam Engel also had a pair of RBis in the contest.

Nova pitched six strong innings, giving up zero earned runs and scattering just two hits. He also struck out four batters as he earned his sixth victory of the season.

After bombarding the White Sox with home runs over the last two games, the Twins were kept in the park on Saturday, with only one run scored and no one in the team's lineup even collecting so much as an RBI.

The White Sox got on the board in a bit of an unconventional way, as Engel grounded into a fielder's choice. José Rondón scored on the play, and Yolmer Sánchez made it to third base on a throwing error.

The Twins returned the favor in the third inning after Byron Buxton scored on an error by Moncada. The third baseman made an error in attempting to get the runner out at first base, but when the Sox couldn't convert, Buxton scored to knot things up at 1-1.

Welington Castillo hit a sacrifice fly to center in the third inning to score the go-ahead run, and from there it was the Moncada show. The talented youngster blasted a home run to center field in the fifth to make it 3-1, and he doubled to deep left-center to score Leury García and make it a a 4-1 game in the seventh inning.

Engel added an insurance run in the eighth, and Alex Colomé worked a scoreless ninth inning to give the White Sox the victory.
