White Sox to Screen ‘The Sandlot' at Guaranteed Rate Field

One of Hollywood's most beloved baseball films is getting a special screening - inside a Chicago ballpark.

The Chicago White Sox announced plans Monday to show "The Sandlot" at Guaranteed Rate Field after the team's game on Saturday, June 23.

The team is showing the iconic film - featuring Smalls, Ham, Squints and the whole gang - as part of a league-wide celebration of the movie's 25th anniversary.

The movie will begin approximately 10 minutes after the end of the game against the Oakland Athletics, which begins at 1:10 p.m., according to the Sox.

It will be shown on the centerfield videoboard and all tickets to the game will include admission to the screening.

Fans will also have a chance to win a copy of the 25th anniversary collector's edition of "The Sandlot" during the Sox game, including 10 custom baseball cards of the characters as well as a poster and booklet with behind-the-scenes photos from the film's director, David Mickey Evans.

Tickets to the game and screening are available on the White Sox website.
