Bail was set at $750,000 for a Wheaton College professor charged with child pornography.
Donald Ratcliff, 60, of Carol Stream was charged with two counts of aggravated child pornography after Carol Stream police said they found images of child pornography on Ratcliff's home computer, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Police told the Sun-Times they opened an undercover investigation several weeks ago after they observed Ratcliff's computer trading child pornography online.
Ratcliff is a professor of Christian education at Wheaton College, where he's been a faculty member since 2006. A Wheaton College spokeswoman told the Sun-Times that Ratcliff is in the process of being placed on administrative leave.
Ratcliff is also a "lay leader" at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Wheaton, according to the Daily Herald. Ratcliff's biography on Wheaton College's website says he is married with three children and became a pastor at age 19.
On his personal website, Ratcliff writes that he is "particularly interested in the spirituality of children."
Ratcliff will appear in bond court on Friday. He could face up to seven years in prison if convicted on aggravated child pornography.
