Weekend Warmup to Bring Near 50 Degree Temps to Chicago Area

On Saturday, temperatures will reach 45 degrees with skies remaining party cloudy

The Chicago area will see near 50 degree temperatures over the weekend, with temps beginning to rise overnight Friday. But the warmup will be short lived.

On Saturday, temperatures will reach 45 degrees with skies remaining party cloudy, according to NBC 5 Meteorologist Brant Miller. Kankakee could see temperatures hit 55 degrees.

The second half of the weekend will be even warmer, with temperatures hitting 49 degrees on Sunday. However, Chicago area residents should expect to see rain, and possibly some snow showers to the north.

Despite the warmer temperatures, snow may be looming next week.

Early projections forecast possibly more than 3 inches of snow in southwest suburban Aurora from Monday into Tuesday, with even more snow further north and west. Snow totals at O’Hare International Airport could also reach 3 inches.

Temperatures are also expected to dip by the middle of next week, with highs dropping to 28 degrees on Wednesday.
