Website Aims to Limit Teen Crashes

New website provides information for parents and teens about responsible driving

Illinois officials have a plan to help stem the number of teens who die from car crashes.

Secretary of State Jesse White and AAA Chicago launched a website on Tuesday that provides information on Illinois laws, driving schools, and common teen driving risks, among other topics.

"Understanding the risks and knowing the facts will help you to set rules," the website explains. "Consistently enforce those rules and model safe and responsible driving."

More teens die in car crashes in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The site, www.illinoisteendriving.com, hopes to change that statistic.
