Spring Weather Finally Arrives, But Not for Long

Finally! Spring-like temperatures are here, Chicago - but not for long.

Temperatures will reach into the 70s for parts of the metro area Thursday, but will drop quickly in a matter of hours.

Highs will likely sit in the mid-60s for areas north of the city and the low- to mid-70s south. As the late-afternoon and evening hours hit, however, those temps will drop by nearly 30 degrees, falling into the 50s inland and even the 40s along the lakefront.

Things rebound Friday, returning to the upper-60s and low-70s with cloudy skies and the chance for showers and a few storms during the late-evening hours.

The weekend currently looks partly cloudy, breezy and much cooler, with highs dropping back into the 40s for most.

The chance for rain continues across both days, with some precipitation possible mixing with snow showers late Sunday night.

Enjoy the reprieve while you can.
