Waukegan school officials on Wednesday announced a revised school calendar for the remainder of the academic year.
The calendar was interrupted by a month-long teacher strike that was resolved late last month. Students lost four weeks of instruction.
The school year will now end on June 17. Items of note from the revised calendar are below:
November
26 - Formerly an off day, now a student attendance day
27 - Schools closed for Thanksgiving Break
28 - Schools closed for Thanksgiving Break
December
22 – Formerly part of Winter Break, now a student attendance day
23 - Formerly part of Winter Break, now a student attendance day
24- Winter Break begins
January
5 - Students return from Winter Break
16 - Formerly Records Day, now a student attendance day
19 - Formerly MLK Day observance, now a student attendance day (pending ISBE waiver)
20 - District Institute Day: no students in attendance
February
16 - Formerly President’s Day, now a student attendance day
18 - School Professional Development Day: no students in attendance
April
3 - Schools closed as part of unofficial Spring Break
6 - Schools closed as part of unofficial Spring Break
7 to 10 - Formerly Spring Break, now student attendance days
May
25 - Schools closed for Memorial Day
June
17 - Final day of student attendance for 2014-2015
18 - District Institute Day: No students in attendance
