Waukegan High School Locked Down After Nearby Shooting

A school in Waukegan, north of Chicago, was briefly locked down Monday morning after shots were fired in the area.

Officials at Waukegan High School confirmed the Washington campus was locked down as a precaution after a shooting on the 0-100 block of Philippa Avenue.

No one was in custody as of 12:30 p.m., but police said they know the name of their suspect and have that individual's vehicle.

No students were injured.
