Those who use Chicago's water taxis will be paying a little bit more in the 2013 season.
The $3 weekday and $4 weekend rates from Ogilvie Transportation Center to Michigan Avenue will remain the same but the 10-ride passes will now cost passengers $17.50. The 31 day pass will sell for $60.
For those who enjoy coasting from Ogilvie to Chinatown, it'll cost them $4 each way on the weekdays and $5 each way on the weekends.
Take a few friends along for the scenic route from Michigan Avenue to Chinatown, and maybe they'll float you the $6 weekday or $7 weekday charge for the impressive ride.
A tourist favorite, the All-Day Unlimited pass, will now go for $8 during the week and $10 on the weekends.
Gregg Pupecki, marketing and sales manager for the company which operates the water taxis, Wendella Boat Tours, said the price increase was going to happen in spite of the city's tentative hike in public docking fees.
"We haven't raised prices in a long time. We actually came up with the metrics in pricing before we knew what the current docking fees was going to be," said Pupecki.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's docking fee proposal is estimated to bring in $42 million over 10 years.

The 2013 season opens on March 16 with in conjunction with the St. Patick's Day Parade and the dyeing of the Chicago River.
