Spring Comes to Chicago With Week-Long Warming

Temperatures will remain warm all week, with a chance for an 80-degree day Thursday

In the first week of May, it seems Spring is finally here to stay.

The weekend forecast looks lovely, with highs in the mid to upper 70s and little chance for rain and clouds. Saturday started out cool, with temperatures in the 40s and low 50s, but by the afternoon, the Chicago area will see temperatures in the 70s.

The air will be cooler near the lakefront, with temperatures only reaching the upper 60s by Saturday afternoon.

Saturday will remain mostly dry, but there is a small chance for a stray shower or an isolated storm overnight. The next chance for rain and stormy weather will be Monday morning.

The warming trend continues Sunday with temperatures gravitating toward 80 degrees.

The rest of the week looks just as beautiful. A slight cool-down will pass through on Monday and Tuesday, but temperatures are not expected to dip much below 60 degrees.

Temperatures will rise again throughout the rest of the week after Tuesday, with an 80-degree day in the forecast for Thursday.
