Warm December Temps to Stay in Chicago Area

After winter’s brief Friday visit, winds will shift this weekend bringing with it a rapid temperature rebound, according to NBC 5 Meteorologist Andy Avalos

Friday felt a lot more like the December Chicagoans are used to. Residents across the city and suburbs experienced bitter temperatures and even saw some flurries. However, the mild December weather isn’t over just yet.

After winter’s brief Friday visit, winds will shift south Saturday into Sunday bringing with it a rapid temperature rebound, according to NBC 5 Meteorologist Andy Avalos. The high Sunday will reach 50 degrees.

Saturday looks to stay cold with highs in the upper-20s and low-30s, though things will likely stay sunny and windy.

The warmth is expected to continue throughout next week, with temperatures remaining in mid to upper 40’s.

Christmas Eve looks to be partly sunny and pleasant with highs in the mid-40s and those conditions will likely stay through Christmas Day.
