A northwest suburban man who was wanted by authorities on an armed violence charge was taken into custody Friday in Ingleside.
Craig S. Phillips, 20, had an active arrest warrant in Lake County for armed violence and was also wanted for questioning by Fox Lake police, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s Warrants Team, along with Fox Lake police, conducted a search of a home in the 26800 block of West Cooney Island Drive in Ingleside, according to the sheriff’s office. Phillips was found hiding in the basement.
Phillips, of the 1400 block of North Fairview Lane in McHenry, is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $75,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s office. He is next scheduled to appear in court Nov. 30.
