He may play for the dreaded Miami Heat, but Chicago native Dwayne Wade can still muster a lot of love in his hometown.
The NBA superstar is bringing some of his celebrity friends for his annual Wade's World Weekend August 25-27th.
It all kicks off Thursday with a kickoff party at Enclave featuring a live performance by British pop star Estelle. 9pm–2am, $20
The party moves to 8fifty8 on Friday night for a Celebrity VIP Lounge party, which you'll need to purchase a $200 three-day pass in order to get in.
Wade hosts his annual "D. Wade's Chicago Has Talent" event on Saturday at the Chicago Theatre. Auditions will be held during the day from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m., with the showcase at 7 p.m. Rocsi (106 and Park) and Comedian Lil Rel will host the event and Diggy Simmons, Jawan Harris and Kids These Days will perform. Tickets are $20 and can purchased on Ticketmaster.com or the Chicago Theatre Box Office.
The party moves to Tantrik on Saturday night, highlighted by a performance by DJ performance by Lo Down Loretta Brown, aka Erykah Badu. 10pm-3a.m., $30
Proceeds from the events benefit the Wade's World Foundation, which helps kids in at-risk situations.
