A Willowbrook High School student was killed over the weekend in a hit-and-run crash in downstate Joslin.
Emilio Perez, 17, was a student at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park.
According to the Quad City Times, witnesses say the victim was walking on the roadway along I-88 when he was struck by a passing vehicle, which sped away after impact.
Investigators are looking for a full-size pickup or SUV, according to the Illinois State Police.
Willowbrook students have painted a rock at the school "RIP Emilio" in remembrance.
A prayer circle vigil was held at the school on Monday night.
