Video Shows Fight at Blue Line Station After Man Allegedly Uses Racial Slur

Viral video posted to social media appears to show a man being punched and pushed onto the tracks at a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line Station after he allegedly used a racial slur.

The footage, posted Thursday, was taken at the Clark and Lake station, according to its description. 

The video shows a man accused of using a racial slur being punched to the ground at the edge of the platform. He can be seen hanging over the edge as others rush to the scene and attempt to break up the fight.

“Call another mother f----- a n-----,” the man who threw the punch is heard saying. 

As the man who was punched gets up, he is punched again and falls over the ledge of the platform toward the tracks. 

Witnesses are heard screaming as some lift the man back onto the platform. 

It was not immediately clear when the video was taken, but by Friday morning it had more than 500,000 views and been shared more than 16,000 times.

The identities of those in the video weren’t immediately known. 

Police confirmed they were called to a battery in progress at the location around 2:20 p.m. Thursday, but were unable to locate a victim.
