Video Claims to Show Moments Just Before Fatal Chicago Shooting

A man was found fatally shot in the North Lawndale neighborhood Wednesday night, and a video circulating online claims to show the moments just before he was shot.

About 8:45 p.m., 28-year-old Antonio Perkins was found facedown with gunshot wounds to the neck and head in a vacant lot in the 1600 block of South Drake, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:07 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 3500 block of West 12th Place.

The video, posted by the New York-based website, claims that Perkins, also known as Cicero Yayo, was taking a Facebook Live video of himself partying with friends. It then shows a car go past the scene once and then return.

The video clearly contains the sound of gunshots and then the camera falls to the ground and goes black, though people can be heard in the background screaming and calling for an ambulance.

The video had been viewed more than 263,000 times and shared nearly 7,000 times on Facebook as of Thursday morning.
