The victim was shot while trying to get information about the suspect's vehicle

A man was shot on Sunday morning during an armed robbery at an AutoZone in south suburban Lansing.

The robbery happened at around 10:30 a.m. at the AutoZone on Torrence Avenue near 183rd Street. The suspect entered the store, showed a gun and left with an undeterminted amount of money, Lansing police said in a news release.

The victim, a 58-year-old man, was taken to Munster Community Hospital and was later released the same day.

A witness told NBC 5 that the victim is an AutoZone employee, however, that has yet to be confirmed by police.

The victim was shot when he walked outside the store to try and get information about the suspect's vehicle, police said. The suspect was last seen leaving the area in a black SUV.
