Vermette Will Play for Blackhawks in Game 3 vs. Predators

Desjardins could also play, according to Joel Quenneville

The Chicago Blackhawks will have at least one new face in the lineup on Sunday afternoon as center Antoine Vermette will make his first appearance of the postseason against the Nashville Predators.

Vermette, who was acquired at the trade deadline from the Arizona Coyotes, hasn’t played all that well for the Hawks so far in his tenure, but he could end up playing a pivotal role in Sunday’s contest. The Blackhawks are looking to get their offense going after only scoring two goals in a 6-2 loss to the Predators on Friday, and adding Vermette into the mix should mean more won face-offs and, ideally, more puck possession time for the home side.

The Blackhawks could also dress Andrew Desjardins for the game, but Joel Quenneville refused to confirm whether or not he would be in the lineup. He also wouldn’t say which player(s) would be removed from the lineup for the game, but the safe money at this point is that either Joakim Nordstrom or Teuvo Teravainen could be sitting out.
